Applications

Match the equipment to the load

Each site has a different load profile, voltage level and harmonic environment. These application groups show which product series are normally considered first.

Application groups

  • Industrial manufacturing

Motor-driven, welding and drive-heavy plants with changing load and harmonic content.

    Typical challenge

Load swings and non-linear equipment lower power factor and distort current.

    Approach

Combine a controller, switching devices and detuned capacitor branches, or use SVG where load changes quickly.

  • Commercial and public buildings

Distribution boards serving lighting, HVAC, lifts and electronics.

    Typical challenge

Mixed inductive and electronic loads vary through the day and add harmonic current.

    Approach

Low-voltage compensation cabinets with filter reactors keep the capacitor bank stable on a harmonic-rich supply.

  • Substations and distribution rooms

Medium and low-voltage distribution points where compensation is installed centrally.

    Typical challenge

Central compensation has to match transformer size, voltage level and site conditions.

    Approach

Select low-voltage or high-voltage compensation cabinets and filter modules for the installation format.

  • Renewable energy grid connection

Connection points where reactive power and harmonics need to be managed on the network side.

    Typical challenge

Output varies with weather, and converters add harmonic current at the connection point.

    Approach

SVG and active harmonic filters respond dynamically; the exact configuration depends on grid requirements.

What we need to recommend a configuration

  1. System voltage and frequency
  2. Transformer rating or incoming supply capacity
  3. Main load types such as motors, drives, welding or lighting
  4. Measured or estimated harmonic content, if available
  5. Present and target power factor
  6. Installation space, ambient conditions and enclosure preference
